Rhode Islanders Making Readiness A Commitment
Announcements
The RI MRC, in conjunction with the RI DMAT team and the RI Department of Health, is proud to announce that our volunteers played a major role in the most successful H1N1 vaccination campaign in the country!

Over 700 MRC and SERV RI volunteers dedicated countless hours to the most successful school based vaccination campaign in the nation.

Rhode Island vaccinated 84.7 % of children ages 6 months to 17 years of age with the RI MRC and the RI Responds Collaboration vaccinating 155,649 children at 641 school based clinics from November 2009 through February 2010.

We thank the volunteers, the communities, and the schools that allowed us to accomplish such an amazing feat.

NOW ON TO THE SUMMER TRAINING EVENTS!!!!!!!!!!!

The Rhode Island Medical Reserve Corps
The RI MRC began in 2003 as a way to recruit and organize medical health professionals and allied personnel to assist the State and local jurisdictions in preparing for and in training for public health and disaster emergencies.

The RI MRC currently has over 1000 registered health volunteers who are called upon to assist in public health and emergency situations and trainings throughout Rhode Island.

The RI MRC works hand in hand with the RI Disaster Medical Assistance Team, The RI Department of Health, the RI Emergency Management Agency and local Emergency Management Agencies to provide Physician Level care to the citizens of Rhode Island at mass gathering events, public health exercises and public health emergencies.

The RI MRC and its members have become an integral part of the State's preparedness plan and strive to meet the needs of its members and the community by offering emergency training and response exercises on a regular basis.

As a member of RI MRC you will have an important role in Making Readiness a Commitment!
